Louisville, Kentucky – Repairing and restoring antiques and family heirlooms will be a part of the upcoming Fall Antiques Market. Wiebold Studio, an art and antiques restoration studio, is one of the exclusive exhibitors at the show.
This year’s show will take place on the lawn of the Historic Locust Grove, 561 Blankenbaker Lane. The show is Sunday, September 27 from 10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Wiebold Studio’s participation in the show is a highlight of the event, and individuals are encouraged to bring their damaged items to the show for an evaluation by Wiebold Studio’s artists and conservators. Wiebold Studio will transport items from the show to its Cincinnati-area location free of charge and contact customers later with an estimate for restoration and conservation of the item.
“We find that the Locust Grove Antiques Market brings people together who really appreciate art and antiques. We participated in the Summer Market, and we’re pleased to be able to participate again,” said Jennifer Burt, business manager with Wiebold Studio. “Many people are hesitant to ship their treasured items through the mail, and we’re happy to take care of them and transport them to and from our studio.”
Wiebold Studio provides fine art restoration and conservation for a variety of artwork, antique and collectors’ pieces. Their staff of conservators and artists work on pieces as diverse as ceramics, metals, bronze, silver, jade, quartz, ivory, glass, porcelain, china, pottery and wood carvings. The firm is most known for its work on paintings, ceramic figurines, portrait miniatures and metal pieces, such as candle sticks, serving pieces and sculptures. Its conservators have provided repair, restoration, conservation and preservation services to individuals, collectors and institutions in the Midwest since its founding more than 60 years ago.
“Most people don’t realize that one of the foremost art and antiques restoration firms in the country is located in the Midwest, and that this high level of craftsmanship is available to the general public,” Burt said. “We’re privileged to return these items to their intended state, preserve their value, and restore families’ treasured memories.”
This year’s show will feature professional dealers from the South and Midwest displaying formal furniture, books, fabrics, jewelry and silver. Admission is $6; $3 for ages 6-12. Admission includes tours of the historic house museum. Proceeds support the continued operation and preservation of Historic Locust Grove, a circa 1790 National Historic Landmark.
Wiebold Studio, located near Cincinnati, Ohio, has offered expert restoration of art and antiques to homeowners, collectors, museums and antiques dealers since 1945.
