How did people get the news in early Louisville? Tom Owen, associate archivist and community relations associate at the University of Louisville, as well as a Metro Councilman, will share the history of Louisville's early newspapers, including the Louisville Journal, the rise of competitors, the ethnic and religious sheets, and the changing role of newspapers over the decades. Dessert and coffee are served at 1:00 pm with the lecture immediately following at 1:15 PM. Admission is $5, $3 for Friends of Historic Locust Grove. Reservations are not required.
