The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society will have its 11th annual Light The Night Walk on October 2nd at Louisville's Great Lawn of Waterfront Park. Nearly 900,000 people in the United States are battling blood cancers; an estimated 4,930 people in Kentucky and Indiana will be diagnosed this year alone. Individuals, families, and local businesses are encouraged to attend to support this cause. Light The Night is a nationwide evening walk to celebrate and commemorate people whose lives have been touched by cancer. All participants carry illuminated balloons—white for survivors, red for supporters, and gold in memory of loved ones lost. Last year’s event in Louisville raised $390,000 with 3,500 participants.
