Liar! Liar! A Moral Musical For Children pits “Red Beard”, an international villain who aspiresto be the first liar in space, to match wits with “Dr. Whoo”, the world’s foremost lie detective. The audience is the jury. How will they decide? Come and see!
James V. Hatch is a retired Professor of English at the City College of New York, where JLT Co-Founding Producer Lorna Littleway was one of his students. Prof. Hatch has written
extensively about black theater and is Co-Founder Administrator of Hatch-Billops Collection, a research library chartered under the State Board of Regents of New York.
Sam Raphling is a Texas native, studied with the great German pianist, Schenabel. When Raphling moved to New York City, he composed symphonies and music based on Langston Hughes’ poems, and performed his adaptation of Stravinsky’s Rites of Spring for piano at Carniege Hall. Hatch and Raphling collaborated on two operas, La Diva and Peter Bees.
