Sam LeCure scattered eight hits and struck out eight over seven innings to lead the Louisville Bats to a 5-0 win over at Rochester on Monday night.
LeCure (4-2) also walked only one as he helped the Bats (15-23) salvage a split in their four-game series with the Red Wings (15-23) at Frontier Field.
Enerio Del Rosario and Jon Adkins pitched the eighth and nine innings, respectively, to preserve Louisville's second shutout of the season.
LeCure got all the offensive help he would need in the fourth inning when Wladimir Balentien and Corky Miller each hit two-run home runs off Rochester starter Matt Fox (3-2).
The Bats added another run in the fifth when Zack Cozart doubled with one out, took second on a ground out, then scored on a passed ball.
Balentien led Louisville with two of the team's six hits.
The Bats begin a four-game series at Lehigh Valley at 7:05 p.m. Tuesday night.
Also Monday, Louisville outfielder Luis Terrero was named International League Batter of the Week after he hit four home runs and knocked in 12 runs last week. He started Monday night's game in right field, but was replaced by Michael Griffin in the second inning.
