Leave No Trace is a national and international program designed to assist outdoor enthusiasts with their decisions about how to reduce their impacts when they recreate outdoors. Green Earth Outdoors, an affiliated partner and approved training provider for the Leave No Trace Center for Outdoor Ethics has partnered with the Forest for this workshop. Participants will receive introductory training in the skills and ethics of Leave No Trace and the opportunity to practice them on an overnight camping trip. Workshop topics include the underlying ethics and seven principles of Leave No Trace:
Plan Ahead and Prepare
Travel and Camp on Durable Surfaces
Dispose of Waste Properly
Leave What You Find
Minimize Campfire Impacts
Respect Wildlife
Be Considerate of Other Visitors
Cost covers food, group equipment, camp fees, course equipment, and includes handouts, a Leave No Trace patch and sticker and an Awareness Workshop certificate. Program meets in the Horine Reservation. Pre-registration required.
