With two widespread power outages in less than five months, food safety has become an important issue. The New Albany-Floyd County Public Library is addressing this topic by presenting a program on February 26, 2009 at 7:00 p.m. in the Strassweg Auditorium. Janet Steffens, educator with the Purdue Extension Service in Floyd County, will discuss what to do when the power goes out, what foods can be saved, and what foods should be discarded.
The evening should be informative and fun. In addition to the valuable information there will be door prizes and refreshments. Anyone interested is invited to come. Please bring a recipe to share with the group. For more information call or visit the Reference Services Desk 949-3523.
