Lawlapalooza, the Louisville legal community's annual battle of the bands that benefits the Judge Ellen B. Ewing Fund, will be held Thursday, October 1, at 6 p.m. at Phoenix Hill Tavern (644 Baxter Ave.; 589-4957). Tickets can be purchased at the door. Barry Bernson, co-host of Fox 41's morning news show, will serve as master of ceremonies.
Eight bands are registered to battle and each includes at least one attorney or law student. Fans vote for their favorite band by throwing tips in their favorite band's tip jar. The winning band is the one with the most money in its tip jar at the end of the evening. This year's event also will include a silent auction featuring an original painting by Schuyler Olt. All proceeds benefit the Judge Ellen B. Ewing Fund.
