Chef Miguel de la Torre and his wife Maggie, owners of De la Torre’s and La Bodega Tapas Bar announced plans for the grand re-opening of La Bodega Tapas Bar for the month of October.
“It has taken us nearly a year to rebuild after the fire,” comments Maggie de la Torre. “We are so relieved to finally put that behind us and concentrate fully on what we love…..sharing the taste of Spain. Miguel has delicious new tapas on the menu and we’ll be offering our hand-crafted cocktails, Spanish wines, and house-made Sangria.”
La Bodega has been expanded to include room for private parties. The Spanish design features a large wood bar, imported Spanish tiles, and mosaic lighting from Alcott & Bentley. The contractor for the project was Mark Guthrie Construction.
The grand re-opening celebration will take place October 2-October 31 with a new tapas menu and nightly drink specials. To get the party started, Friday and Saturday, October 2-3, will feature nightly DJ sets by frequent La Bodega collaborator DJ Cervantes (aka Cody Grimm), visiting form Los Angeles. The sets will combine a mix of red hot new songs, as well as classic La Bodega favorites, to celebrate the rebuilding after the fire.
De la Torre’s and La Bodega Tapas Bar serve the authentic flavors of Spain Tuesday-Saturday, beginning at 5:30 pm, with full menu service late night Fridays and Saturdays until 2 am. The new menu will be featured on the web site at www.delatorres.com starting next week. The restaurant is located at 1606 Bardstown Road in the Bonnycastle neighborhood of the Highlands. Outside seating is available on the private patio behind the restaurant. For reservations, call (502) 456-4955. De la Torre’s is a proud member of the Louisville Originals.
