    The 5th Annual Kentucky Art Car Week/files/storyimages/will take place August 4-5, 2006. Art car artists from across the country will converge on the 700 block of West Main St. where their cars will be on display Friday afternoon and evening and Saturday morning. Friday evening car artists will be available to talk with visitors about their cars, and some will have original works of art available for sale. This will coincide with the first Friday gallery hop in downtown Louisville. Saturday morning the car artists and their cars will be back on Main Street, where a special workshop related to art cars will take place in front of KMA+C. Around noon, the art cars will embark on a festive parade from downtown out Bardstown Road through part of the Highlands.

    Multi media Artist Scott Scarboro will direct the "Junkabilly Drive-In", where a Common parking lot gets transformed into a fully functioning Drive-In Movie theatre complete with concessions and radio transmitted audio. This time around the event will take place at the Louisville Water Tower, home of the Louisville Visual Art Association on River Rd Where it meets Zorn Ave. This is the 4th time for the make shift Drive-In. In times past such movies projected have been "Godzilla vs. Monster Zero", "Wild Wheels" and "Repo Man". This evening's Feature film will also be sure to please. On hand will be dozens of Art Cars as they roll into town to Participate in the Kentucky Museum of Art and Craft's KY Art Car Week.
