The evening starts with A Cowgirl, A Diva and A Shameless Hussy-- a sassy, sexy trio made up of Becky Hobbs, Benita Hill and Kacey Jones promises to be a singular act of the Spring, 2010 season. Their performance runs the gamut of original country, jazz, blues and pop with songs like Becky’s “Angels Among Us,” recorded by Alabama and “Jones On The Jukebox,” “Two Pina Coladas,” and “It’s Your Song,” recorded by Garth Brooks.
Regulars at Nashville’s Bluebird and a favorite of Garrison Keiller’s Prairie Home Companion on NPR, their set list inspired Homefront to devote the entire 1st broadcast hour to their music!
The 2nd broadcast hour starts with one of Homefront’s favorite singer/songwriters, Alan Rhody -- gold, platinum and double platinum songwriter of such hits as “I’ll Be True To You” for the Oak Ridge Boys, “Wild-Eyed Dream,” for Ricky Van Shelton and “Trainwreck of Emotion,” for Lorrie Morgan.
Closing the 2nd broadcast hour is Ron Short, Appalachian singer/songwriter, playwright and creative force behind the internationally known Roadside Theater. Short’s music is steeped in the traditions of Old Regular Baptist singing, storytelling and family bands where the elements of culture, story and music come together.
