The Kentucky Exposition Center (KEC) is hosting multiple electric companies from across the country as their employees help with repairs from the ice storm. The trucks are parked in the L Lot, Ashton Adair Lot, West Hall and a marked portion of the N Lot until approximately February 7, 2009. The 1,600 workers are served breakfast from 5:30a.m.-9a.m. before leaving to work in their assigned areas. The workers return for dinner from 5:30p.m. to 10p.m. and are then transported to hotels via shuttle.
Over the next few weeks, KEC will host several events that will require public parking at the Expo Center. Patrons attending the following events should be aware of the large number of electrical response teams traveling to and from KEC and parking their electrical trucks in the above-mentioned lots. Attendees will have to park in lots other than those mentioned above. A map of the Expo Center’s parking areas can be found at www.kyfairexpo.org/parking/index.html.
