Anyone attending this year’s Kentuckiana Pride Festival may want to note that the route of the annual parade event will change due to construction along Interstate 65.  The parade normally heads down Main Street ending at The Belvedere located at the corner of Main and Fourth.  However, due to construction, the State will not allow the closure of Second Street Bridge resulting in the changing of route.  The parade, which is set for 8:00 pm on Friday, June 15th will instead proceed down Market Street starting in the Tryangle’s lot west of Preston Street, and will turn north onto Fourth Street finally ending at the normal location near the Belvedere.

The parade signals the start of the annual Pride festivities held Friday and Saturday night along the greens at the Belvedere.  Featured musical acts this year include Louisville’s own Ladybirds and out of town acts Cazwell, Eric Himan, and The Clicks.  Event goers can expect to see showcases from area businesses and organizations along with entertainment, food and drinks.  Admission Friday night is Free and Saturday’s general admission fee is 5-dollars.  The festival events are open to the public and children.

    Guidelines include:

    • No ID, no alcohol.  No exceptions.
    • Persons, bags, coolers and other containers are subject to search.
    • No weapons, drugs, outside alcohol or open containers permitted
    • Pets are welcome at the parade, but not at the festival.
    • Saturday:  If you lose your wristband, you’ll need to purchase admission again.

The Kentuckiana Pride Festival Parade, which is themed “Our Footprints are Everywhere” will kick off Friday night at 8:00 pm and will be followed by the Friday Night Fest along the Belvedere, 485 West Main Street.  The Kentuckiana Pride Festival will be held all day at the Belvedere with events starting at noon.  All proceeds benefit the Kentuckiana Pride Foundation.
