    Saturday’s stake races include the $150,000 Woodford Stakes (G3) for 3-year-olds at 5 ½ furlongs on the turf; the $200,000 Thoroughbred Club of America Stakes (G2) for fillies and mares three years old and up going six furlongs; the $400,000 First Lady Stakes (G1) for fillies and mares three years old and up going one mile on the turf; the $500,000 Claiborne Breeders’ Futurity (G1) for 2-year-olds going 1 1/16 miles; and the $1,000,000 Shadwell Turf Mile Stakes (G1) for 3-year-olds and up going a mile on turf. The Thoroughbred Club of America Stakes, the Claiborne Breeders’ Futurity, and the Shadwell Turf Mile are Breeders’ Cup Challenge series races.

    Sunday’s stakes action includes the $250,000 Dixiana Bourbon Stakes (G3) for 2-year-olds going 1 1/16 miles on the turf and the $500,000 Juddmonte Spinster Stakes (G1) for fillies and mares three years old and up going 1 1/8 miles on the main track. Both races are part of the Breeders’ Cup Challenge series.

    Other stakes throughout the meet include the $150,000 JP Morgan Chase Jessamine (G3) (Oct. 8), the $100,000 Buffalo Trace Franklin County (L) (Oct. 10), the $500,000 Queen Elizabeth II Challenge Cup (G1) (Oct. 11), the $100,000 Sycamore (G3) (Oct. 16), the $150,000 Pin Oak Valley View (G3) (Oct. 17), the $250,000 Lexus Raven Run (G2) (Oct. 18), the $125,000 Rood & Riddle Dowager (L) (Oct. 19), and the $200,000 Hagyard Fayette Stakes (G2) (Oct. 25). The JP Morgan Chase Jessamine (Oct. 8) is a Breeders’ Cup Challenge series race.

    Special Events:

    Saturday Specials: There are lots of special happenings each Saturday before the races start. Sunrise Trackside offers activities for all ages beginning at 7 a.m. Watch the horses train (until 8:30 a.m.) while enjoying breakfast and trackside commentary at Breakfast with the Works. Kids Club Corner offers children’s activities from 7-9 a.m. Catch an equine-related demonstration in the Paddock at 8:45 a.m. or take a guided walking tour of Keeneland between 8 a.m. and 10:30 a.m. The trackside handicapping seminar starts at 11:30 a.m. and the jockey Q&A session starts at 12:05 p.m. in the Paddock. Finally, if that’s not enough to occupy your morning, get your picture taken with Keeneland Bugler Steve Buttleman near the Paddock.

    Keeneland/UK Double: Saturdays, Oct. 4, 11 & 25 enjoy a day at the races and UK football. LexTran invites fans to ride the shuttle to and from Commonwealth Stadium and Keeneland on game days in October for only $1 a ride. Park at Commonwealth Stadium on Saturday, Oct.4, catch the shuttle over to Keeneland for the day’s races, and then catch the shuttle back to the stadium for UK versus South Carolina at 7:30 p.m. The shuttle will also run Oct. 11 and 25. Pick-ups start from the stadium beginning at 11:45 a.m., with the last pick-up from Keeneland at 6:45 p.m.
