Start warming up your kazoo’s and head down to the Frazier International History Museum as we welcome the Cincinnati Dancing Pigs Jug Band and Louisville’s own Juggernaut Jug Band on Friday, August 22 from 7 to 11 pm as part of the kickoff for the National Jug Band Jubilee! Come enjoy some music, learn the history of jug bands and see the Louisville premiere of Chasing Gus’ Ghost, 2008 winner of Best Music Documentary Award at the New York Film and Video Festival. Chasing Gus’ Ghost chronicles the impact that jug band music—first formed in Louisville, KY and Birmingham, AL—had on the roots of American music beginning in the 1920’s with Gus Cannon and Cannon’s Jug Stompers.
