A judge has cleared the way for Louisville to enforce an ordinance that outlaws nude dancing, limits the hours for adult-entertainment businesses and bans alcohol at the venues.

But Jefferson County Circuit Judge Stephen Ryan found that a section of the law prohibiting dancers from touching patrons was found to be unconstitutional.

In his ruling Monday the judge lifted his injunction issued in early March that prohibited the city from enforcing the ordinance.

Jefferson County Attorney Irv Maze says overall he's pleased with the outcome.

The attorney for the adult entertainment businesses Mike Hatzell says he will appeal the ruling.

The action by Metro Council spurred a lawsuit by nightclubs, which argued that the ordinance was overly broad and violated constitutional freedoms of expression and association.
