Teddy Bridgewater had the finest moment of his brief pro career, Harry Douglas caught a touchdown pass and Elvis Dumervil added to his league-leading sack total. Those were just a few of the highlights for Louisville natives and University of Louisville products in Week 14 of the NFL season. Here’s a quick look at how they all did:
Louisville natives
Michael Bush (Arizona): The veteran running back, a Male High School and UofL product who was signed by the Cardinals on Nov. 25, was released by the team Friday without playing in a game.
Brandon Dunn (Chicago): The rookie defensive tackle, a Pleasure Ridge Park High School graduate and UofL product, played but didn’t register a tackle in Chicago’s 41-28 loss to Dallas on Thursday night. The Bears (5-8) host New Orleans next Monday night.
Corey Peters (Atlanta): The fifth-year defensive tackle, a Central High School graduate and former University of Kentucky standout, tallied one tackle in the Falcons’ 43-37 loss at Green Bay on Monday night. Atlanta (5-8) hosts Pittsburgh at 1 p.m. Sunday.
C.J. Spillman (Dallas): The sixth-year defensive back and special teams standout, a Central grad and former Marshall University standout, tallied three tackles in the Cowboys’ 41-28 win at Chicago on Thursday night. Dallas (9-4) plays at Philadelphia this Sunday night.
Former UofL players
Gary Barnidge (Cleveland): With regular starter Jordan Cameron back in the lineup Barnidge, the tight end who is in his seventh season, didn’t play in the Browns’ 25-24 loss to Indianapolis on Sunday. Cleveland (7-6) hosts Cincinnati at 1 p.m. this coming Sunday.
Bridgewater (Minnesota): The rookie quarterback completed 19 of 27 passes for 309 yards and two touchdowns - including the game-winning 87-yarder to Jarius Wright - and one interception in the Vikings’ 30-24 win over the visiting New York Jets on Sunday. Minnesota (6-7) plays at Detroit at 4:25 p.m. this Sunday.
Preston Brown (Buffalo): The rookie inside linebacker tallied six tackles in the Bills’ 24-17 loss at Denver on Sunday. Buffalo (7-6) hosts Green Bay at 1 p.m. this Sunday.
Douglas (Atlanta): The wide receiver, who is in his sixth season, had two catches for 11 yards - including a 2-yard TD reception with 2:11 to play - in the Falcons ‘ 43-37 loss at Green Bay on Monday night. Atlanta (5-8) hosts Pittsburgh at 1 p.m. this Sunday.
Dumervil (Baltimore): The outside linebacker, who is in his ninth season, had four tackles - including 3.5 sacks (giving him a league-leading 16 on the season) - in the Ravens’ 28-13 win at Miami on Sunday. Baltimore (8-5) hosts Jacksonville at 1 p.m. next Sunday.
William Gay (Pittsburgh): The cornerback, who is in his eighth season, tallied four tackles in the Steelers’ 42-21 win at Cincinnati on Sunday. Pittsburgh (8-5) plays at Atlanta at 1 p.m. next Sunday.
Breno Giacomini (New York Jets): The seventh-year starting offensive tackle and the Jets lost 30-24 in overtime at Minnesota on Sunday. New York (2-11) plays at Tennessee at 4:05 p.m. next Sunday.
Senorise Perry (Chicago): The rookie running back played, but didn’t register a carry or tackle in the Bears’ 41-28 loss to Dallas last Thursday night. Chicago (5-8) hosts New Orleans at 8:30 p.m. next Monday night.
Bilal Powell (New York Jets): The fourth-year running back had two carries for 6 yards in the Jets’ 30-24 overtime loss at Minnesota on Sunday. New York (2-11) plays at Tennessee at 4:05 p.m. next Sunday.
Calvin Pryor (New York Jets): The rookie free safety started, but didn’t register a tackle in the Jets’ 30-24 loss at Minnesota on Sunday. New York (2-11) plays at Tennessee at 4:05 p.m. next Sunday.
Marcus Smith (Philadelphia): The rookie linebacker was active, but didn’t register a tackle in the Eagles’ 24-14 loss to visiting Seattle on Sunday afternoon. Philadelphia (9-4) hosts Dallas at 8:30 p.m. next Sunday night.
Byron Stingily (Tennessee): The fourth-year offensive tackle made his third start of the season - and his second in a row - in the Titans’ 36-7-21 loss to the New York Giants on Sunday afternoon. Tennessee (2-11) hosts the New York Jets at 4:05 p.m. next Sunday.
Eric Wood (Buffalo): The sixth-year center made his 76th consecutive start in the Bills’ 24-17 loss at Denver on Sunday afternoon. Buffalo (7-6) hosts Green Bay at 1 p.m. next Sunday.
