How to Have a Bourbon Soaked Easter Dinner
    Print this page

Kentucky is the home of the best bourbon in the world.  An entire economy is built up around the bourbon industry here, from tourism to bourbon foods to crafts made with used barrels.  We do it all with bourbon.

We’ve all had bourbon balls, but have you had bourbon baked beans?  What  bourbon sweet potato bisque or bourbon baked ham?  If you haven’t had any of these delicious bourbon-infused dishes, you’re missing out.  Here’s an entire Easter dinner menu of bourbon-infused foods:

    Appetizers:

-Sauteed Mushrooms with Bourbon  make a nice savory starter.

                    - Bourbon Meatballs add a Kentucky kick to an old classic.

-A Ginger Peach Julep is a great way to celebrate Mint Julep Month in Louisville.

    Starters:

-A Warm Bourbon Spinach Salad with Avocado just sounds like heaven.

-Bourbon Sweet Potato Bisque is savory comfort food.

    Main Course:

-Bourbon Baked Ham is a great way to put the bourbon spin on a traditional Easter dish.

-Bacon and Bourbon Collard Greens will have your guests clamoring for more greens.

-Bourbon Glazed Carrots are a great compliment to your spread.

-Bourbon Maple Slow-Cooker Baked Beans are delicious and savory.

-Peach Mint Bourbon Sweet Tea is a delicious thirst quencher.

    Dessert:

-Kentucky Chocolate Chip Bourbon Pie with Bourbon Whipped Cream is a mandatory dessert this time of the year.  You could also serve up some locally-made Easter Candy from Dundee Candy Shop.

Add a little Kentucky flavor to your recipes.  Of course, you could just do one or two of these recipes, but what fun would that be?  The more bourbon, the merrier.  And it's good practice for becoming a Citizen Bourbon Ambassador.  (As always, enjoy Kentucky's native spirit responsibly, and don't forget to drink plenty of water!)
