Last year Houndmouth threw their own one-day music and street festival called Boomtown Ball and they are here to say that last year's event will not be a one hit wonder. This year's Boomtown Ball will place on May 24 on Market Street in Houndmouth's hometown of New Albany.
The event was announced today by New Albany Mayor Jeff M. Gahan who said that this event will once again serve as the kick off to New Albany's Bicentennial Park Summer Concert Series.
The festival's music lineup has been curated by Houndmouth and the open air bazaar will be organized by the same people behind Flea Off Market.
Boomtown Ball's 2015 music lineup so far (as there are more to be announced) includes Langhorne Slim, The Apache Relay, The Features, Big Big, JaLin Roze, and Lazy Sunday. It has not been announced if Houndmouth will be taking the stage during the festivities. At last year's festival, they performed at The Grand in New Albany, just one block from Boomtown Ball on Market Street.
Gates for the FREE event will open at 1 p.m. with music starting at 1:30 p.m.
Boomtown Ball is put together in coordination with the city of New Albany, Houndmouth, 91.9 WFPK, and Production Simple.
