Holy Week Concert Unites Churches
The music programs of Bethel-St. Paul Church and Lyndon Baptist Church, two east-end congregations, will combine during Holy Week to present a stirring and reflective musical entitled, “There Stands a Cross.” The chorus will be conducted by Dan G. Lane and Philip Landgrave, respective Ministers of Music of Bethel-St. Paul and Lyndon Baptist, and will include narration that frames the story and meaning of the events preceding the crucifixion and resurrection. The concert will feature a new and captivating interpretation of the Lord’s Prayer featuring soloist and background chorus. An array of visuals depicting the events of Jesus’ last week will be shown on dual screens to amplify upon the musical elements.
The Maundy Thursday presentation will take place April 1st, 7:00p.m., at the Bethel-St. Paul Church, 4004 Shelbyville Road. The March 31st Wednesday presentation at Lyndon Baptist, 8025 New LaGrange Road, will also take place at 7:00p.m. The concerts are free and the general public is invited and welcomed to attend.
