A dedication of an exhibit featuring rare photographs and artifacts of the historic town of Patriot (IN) will take place on Sunday, Oct. 19 at 2:00 pm. at Patriot Town Hall.

Acquired from private individual donors--some as far away as Chicago—over 60 rare photos and numerous artifacts depicting a diverse representation of many aspects of life and business in Patriot will be on display. Several special albums of photographs will be available for viewing during the dedication, although not a regular part of the exhibit.

Speakers will be on hand to introduce volunteers, provide a brief history of Patriot and Patriot schools and to recognize town veterans who fought in all wars since the Revolution.

The town of Patriot is the only incorporated town named “Patriot” in the country and the birthplace of Elwood Mead, a professor, politician and engineer who oversaw the construction of the Hoover Dam.

Patriot Town Hall is located on 3rd Street along the river in downtown Patriot. The event is free and open to the public. Light refreshments will be served.
