Hillbilly Outfield is held at 12202 Old Shelbyville Road and begins at 6 p.m. on May 1. Tickets can be purchased in advance online at www.hillbillyoutfield.org for $40 or at the door for $55. All proceeds of this event benefit the Make-A-Wish Foundation of Kentucky and Southern Indiana.

Known as Middletown’s biggest Derby party, the festivities have grown considerably, hosting between four and five hundred guests over the course of the weekend in 2008. Party-goers enjoy live music, food and drink all weekend, and attendees may camp out in Hafendorfer’s backyard, referred to as “tent city.” Campsites are available on a first-come, first-served basis. Bluegrass favorite Lawson Family Band performs on Saturday night. Hope to see you there!
