    LOUISVILLE, Ky. - For the fourth consecutive year, Meetings & Conventions Magazine (M&C) has awarded the prestigious 2005 Gold Service Award to the Greater Louisville Convention & Visitors Bureau.

    Now in its 23rd year, this award honors convention and visitors bureaus that have excelled in professionalism and dedication in its service to meeting professionals. The Gold Service Award is given annually to the finest Convention & Visitors Bureaus nominated and chosen by M&C subscribers who consist of corporate, incentive and association meeting planners.

    Winners are selected based on key criteria including: professionalism of staff, support on hotels and site inspections; assistance with ground transportation planning; guidance on local attractions, and liaison with local venders and services.

    Greater Louisville Convention & Visitors Bureau Promotes Two

    The Greater Louisville Convention & Visitors Bureau has promoted two of its staff. Paul Moore hasa been promoted to Sales Manager for Small Meetings. His new responsibilities include the solicitation of meetings of 149 room peak room nights or less in the education, medical, scientific, engineering, hobby, religious, social, welfare, trade and business markets. Moore joined the Bureau in 2003 as an account executive. Before joining the Bureau, Moore worked as a financial advisor at Preferred Financial Solutions in Chicago. The promotion was effective July 18.

    TiJuana "Tiye" Howard has been promoted to Convention Sales Coordinator. Howard will now assist the Director of Midwest Sales and the Director of Northeast Sales in generating new leads through telemarketing, mailings, e-mails and projects that will results in leads for the convention development department. Howard joined the Bureau in 2002 as a convention sales assistant. Before joining the Bureau, she worked at the Hyatt Regency Louisville as a sales assistant. The promotion was effective July 25.
