Go Green For Brightside!
If you still haven’t found your “green cocktail attire” for Brightside’s Green Tie Bash 2008, you’ve still got plenty of time to get your green on for YPAL
and Brightside Inc!
With the cost of $45 a person and the proceeds benefiting downtown
As Jerika Amos, Brightside’s Development Director explains “Typical fundraising events have a black tie dress code, but since this event is geared toward young professionals, we decided to spice it up a bit. The dress code is “green cocktail attire.” This is not required, but encouraged. You don’t need to rent a tuxedo, just show up in something you’d wear to a cocktail party and then add a piece of “green flare.” It can be as mild or extreme as you like.”
Organizers expect around 500 people to att/files/storyimages/the Bash this year. Amos tells us “Like many non-profits, Brightside was struggling with the issue of engaging the “young professional” demographic. So last year we decided to “borrow” the Green Tie idea from a similar organization in
The event will be emceed by Angie Fenton of the Courier-Journal, and music will be by DJ Reggie Regg. Since Brown-Forman is the Gold Sponsor for the event, Amos gives us the “secret recipe” for their signature drink they’ll be offering at the Bash:
The Finlandia Green Tie Martini
1 ? ounces Finlandia
? ounce Melon Liqueur
Splash of Pineapple Juice
Shake and strain into chilled cocktail glass
Be sure to get out to The Olmsted on Saturday, March 1st to celebrate beautifying the city and being active in the community… all while dressed in your best green sassy attire!
