ANTHONY SCHAFERMEYER TO BE LOUISVILLE GLASSWORKS 1ST VISITING ARTIST-IN-RESIDENCE

Glassworks is proud to announce that Anthony Schafermeyer will be coming from his private studio in Pittsburgh, (PA) to work in the Louisville Glassworks/Hyland Hot Shop for a 5-day residency. Schafermeyer is the first artist to participate in Glassworks new Artist Residency Program, which will annually host premier glass artists from around the US for a weeklong stay.

Residency Dates: Monday, April 27th thru Friday, May 1st
Demonstration Time: 10-5pm daily, (lunch break 12-1)
Location: Louisville Glassworks Hot Shop

*Cost: All guests on the self-guided tour are welcome to watch the artist demonstrate for the day. Self- guided tours are offered M-F from 10am-4pm. $4.50 (Adults), $3.50 (Students & Seniors), complimentary admission for children under 5 years of age.

About Anthony Schafermeyer: Anthony Schafermeyer has been a professional glass artist for fifteen years. He has taught, extensively throughout the country including but not limited to Pilchuck Glass School, Haystack mountain school of crafts, and the Corning museum of glass. Anthony has also lectured, and demonstrated abroad, including The University of Segovia, Spain. Niijima Glass school, Japan, The Riitveld Acadamy of Art in Holland, and Kittengela Glass in Kenya. Anthony has a studio in Millvale PA, and is currently working on an installation project for the new Fairmont Hotel in Downtown Pittsburgh. He is currently represented by Habatat Gallery, in Boca Raton FL. and Dane Gallery in Nantuckett MA.
