GEORGE ROGERS CLARK & LOCUST GROVE recounts Clark’s military exploits during the Revolutionary War, and how he pushed the boundary of the new United States of America to the Mississippi River, and in doing so, founded Louisville and helped establish Kentucky. Despite all of his achievements, the authors say he remains a largely unknown figure in American history. This book will shed much needed attention on this deserving national and local hero.
Written by former Locust Grove Director Gwynne Tuell Potts and Samuel W. Thomas, the museum’s first curator, GEORGE ROGERS CLARK & LOCUST GROVE also recounts the remarkable restoration of Locust Grove, which became a National Historic Landmark in 1986, and the lives of both the extraordinary and ordinary people connected to it.
The book will be available June 9th and will retail for $39.95. Retailers can contact Jennifer Jansen, Visitors Center & Gift Shop Coordinator about quantity discounts at 502-897-9845.
