Friends for Hope announces plans for the annual spring 2011 Weekend Getaway. It will take place Friday-Sunday, April 8-10, 2011 at the Kavanaugh Enrichment Center, 7505 Kavanaugh Road in Crestwood, Kentucky. Arrive after 3 pm on Friday for the retreat which ends at noon on Sunday. The Weekend Getaway is a retreat for adults 18 years or older who had or have cancer, their caregivers and family members. “For all of us living with cancer, the Weekend Getaway is a much needed refuge,” said Carol Hudson, volunteer. “It is a great way to relax and support each other.”

A fun-filled, caring sharing, time of love, laughter and relaxation, the Weekend Getaway offers informational sessions featuring local professionals on a variety of topics of interest to cancer patients, survivors and caregivers. This year’s theme is Kavanaugh’s Got Talent and includes a special Friday night Line Dancing event. The cost for the weekend including lodging, all activities, meals and snacks is $80 per person.
