We all like free stuff, and we all like comic books (trust me, you do!). So what could possibly be better than Free Comic Book Day?
You're telling me you don't know about Free Comic Book Day? FCBD is the first Saturday of every May where participating comic book stores give away free comics. Why? Comic books, love them or hate them, are a fantastic way to introduce people to the joys of reading. I remember being a young lad in the long ago ages of the 1980's reading old copies of Tales from the Crypt I'd grabbed from a yard sale for 5 cents each. I've been reading everything I can get my hands on ever since. That's right, I thank (blame?) the Crypt Keeper for the man I am today.
FCBD has been going on since 2002. Each year, publishers apply to provide comic books at cost to retailers, who in turn give them to you for free!
Now, stop foaming at the mouth for a minute and ask the real question: What comics can I get for free? I'm glad you asked! This year you'll be able to get everything from Mickey Mouse to Green Lantern and Spiderman to the Smurfs. There is definitely something for everyone. Be sure to check the link below for a complete listing.
