The Frankfort Avenue Parade, held this  year on March 22 begins in front of St. Mark’s at 2822 Frankfort Avenue and heads towards downtown Louisville, ending at Haldeman Avenue.  Although the parade begins at 11:30 AM, participants are asked to be onsite at 11:00 am.

The parade includes antique cars, the Wagner High School Marching Band, dance teams, horse drawn carriages, neighborhood groups and businesses, Shriner buggies, the Talking Police Car, costumed-families, dogs with rabbit ears, children with Easter bonnets and baskets and plenty of candy.  Also this year includes a performance by Hwang's Martial Artists who bring drums and do jumping moves, kicking, and mock fighting.

According to organizer Michaelle Warner “We put the parade on for free as a neighborhood feel good event and to get people out on beautiful Frankfort Avenue.  This parade is family oriented and anybody can participate, that is the joy of it...you just sign up that morning.”

In addition, The Frankfort Avenue Business Association will be giving out “Good Ears” awards for the most creative floats and outrageous Easter Bonnets.  The Judges’ stand will be located in front of the Irish Rover, 2319 Frankfort Ave.  Those who wish to be considered for one of the awards will be asked to stop in front of the judges, and then show off their Easter Style.

Organizers promise there will be plenty of candy for the kids, so don’t forget your Easter Bonnet and come on out to Frankfort Avenue to celebrate Easter with a fun-filled parade!
