    Forecastle Festival 2012 preview: Tanlines
    Print this page

Brooklyn is the current uncontested progenitor of inventive indie bands, and Tanlines is one of the more exciting acts to explode from this scene in recent years. This stand-out electronic duo puts its own twist on dance and experimental pop, and will be treating Forecastle to its breezy beats this Friday, July 13, at 6 p.m. on the Red Bull Ocean Stage.

Since forming a partnership in 2008, percussionist Jesse Cohen and guitarist-vocalist Eric Emm have collaborated with some of the biggest names in the music business, including the xx, Julian Casablancas, Rick Ross, and Vampire Weekend. Their debut studio album Mixed Emotions was released just earlier this year to strong positive reviews, confirming the fact that the pair have a bright future ahead of them.

    About Karen Ellestad

When I was seven and my brother was eight, we both wrote to 'Where in the World is Carmen Sandiego?' for a free t-shirt. Two weeks later his arrived in the mail, signed by Carmen Sandiego herself, accompanied by an autographed picture of the cast, an official membership to the 'Gumshoe Club,' and a Rockapella casette tape. I got a postcard.
