The festival, which for the second year covers two days, will feature yet another free family activity.  This year, for the first time, organizers are offering the inflatable games at no charge to families.  Other Kids World activities include interactive games provided by Metro Parks, a Squallis Puppeteer Parade and Workshop, and “Radio Disney Live!” activities.  Better Quality Business Systems will also provide free child ID’s to the first 2500 children each day.

“Over the Fourth of July holiday, the Waterfront will be a wonderful place for families to come together to celebrate our nation and our freedom,” said Mayor Abramson.  “The festival just gets bigger and better every year.”

Monday, July 3rd, is WAMZ country night, featuring free concerts by Louisville’s own honky tonk band Johnny Berry and the Outliers, hot newcomers Dalton, and national recording artist Trace Adkins.  The Johnny Berry and the Outliers album “Fegenbush Farm” was Ear X Tacy’s top selling album from a local artist in 2005.  Dalton, winner of the 2001 Kentucky State Tru Value Country Showdown, is a high energy country band that will perform after Johnny Berry.  Country chart topper Trace Adkins will headline the main stage for the evening.  He currently has a hit release, “Honky Tonk Badonkadonk” from his album “Songs About Me.”

Tuesday, July 4th, is a Radio One party!  The evening will open with Louisville’s VilleBillies, who attribute their music to
classic rock, hip-hop, blues, country, bluegrass, and even Latin influences.  National hip-hop recording artists from Kentucky, Nappy Roots, will perform family-friendly, crowd-pleasing favorites and prep the audience for headliner Morris Day and the Time.  Well known from his supporting role in the movie “Purple Rain,” Morris Day has mastered the genre of funky music with hits “Jungle Love” and “The Bird.”  Morris is sure to deliver what he is best known for, an electrifying performance that will inspire the audience to get up and dance.
