The annual Festival of Trees and Lights, Nov. 15-18 at Louisville Slugger Field, is a holiday wonderland full of activities all to benefit the Pediatric Oncology Program at Kosair Children's Hospital. Funds raised from the event will purchase new equipment that better identifies cancer cells, allowing better treatment of patients. General admission to the festival is $3 per person.
The festival features hundreds of designer-decorated Christmas trees, wreaths and garlands all for sale. Trees range from 2-8 feet tall and are sold with all lights and decorations. A popular section of the festival is the Children’s Activities area, which will be open during general admission hours Nov. 16, 17 and 18. Sponsored by TWIGS of Kosair Children's Hospital, activities include pictures with Santa, cookie decorating, Face Painting, Safety Bingo and giant air-walk balloons. Tickets are 50 cents each, with each activity ranging from one to several tickets.
In addition, visitors to the festival may purchase holiday gifts and decorations in the Gift Shop and Fine Art Gallery. And the Kwanzaa, Lights display highlighting the Jewish faith and Christian Heritage displays offer educational opportunities for all.
