    Bit to Do

Feast BBQ 2 has a similar vibe to the New Albany original: a giant American flag adorns one wall, sauces and rolled silverware pepper the long wooden picnic tables, there’s even a little taxidermy to complete the rustic, Americana feel. Feast Nulu is much larger than Feast’s New Albany branch: it seats around 120. I stopped by their soft opening yesterday, December 17, and chatted with culinary director Ryan Rogers about the future of Feast in NuLu.

Rogers was quick to praise his “over-talented” team in the kitchen; head chef Margaret Lawrence (pictured) and sous chefs Joe Banet and Sunshine Flagg will rotate from location to location, along with much of the rest of the staff.

Rogers continued, “We’re excited that we’re here and open. It was a big renovation; all-new electric, heating, and plumbing, we had to dig out the old floors…it was set up as a small bakery before, so changes had to be made.”

So what’s in the future for Feast’s new, exciting, and much bigger space? “We want to make sure we’re doing this right before we start jumping ship to do other stuff,” says Rogers, but hints that a late-night menu with additional items, pop-up dinners in the old Cake Flour space, and perhaps even (gasp!) a Feast BBQ brunch may be in the future.

    Feast BBQ 2 is currently open at 909 Market St. Tuesday – Thursday from 11 a.m. to 12 a.m. and Friday – Saturday from 11 a.m. to 2 a.m.
