Kentucky's sixteenth president and native son will be the focus of "A Day with Lincoln," scheduled for Saturday, November 15, at the Thomas D. Clark Center for Kentucky History.
This event is held in conjunction with the 27th annual Kentucky Book Fair and will feature presentations by authors as well as a noon luncheon with guest James L. Swanson, author of Manhunt: The 12-Day Chase for
Lincoln's Killer. The schedule of events for Saturday includes:
* 9:15 a.m. - presentation by Jane Gentry, Joe
Survant, Richard Taylor, and Frederick Smock
regarding Abraham Lincoln of Kentucky. This
Lincoln
book is in honor of the Abraham Lincoln Bicentennial
and features a collection of original poetry and prose
by four of Kentucky's Poets Laureate.
* 10:30 a.m. - presentation by Raymond Bial, author
of Where Lincoln Walked.
* Noon luncheon - featuring James L. Swanson.

* 2:30 p.m. - presentation by Lawrence Lee Hewitt,
author of Lincoln and Kentucky's Confederate
Officers.
All presentations are free and open to the public. The luncheon cost is $32.00, which includes a copy of James L. Swanson's book Manhunt.

Swanson will also sign his book at the Kentucky Book Fair, Frankfort Convention Center, 405 Mero Street from 9 to 11 a.m. and from 3 to 4:30 p.m.
The Kentucky Book Fair is sponsored by The State
Journal, Frankfort's daily newspaper, and
cosponsored by the Kentucky Department for
Libraries and Archives and the University Press of
Kentucky. Most of the profits are donated to school
and public libraries in Kentucky.
