the likely favorite for the 136th running of the Kentucky Derby, will not run in the "greatest two minutes in sports" next Saturday after all.
At a press conference on Sunday morning, trainer Todd Pletcher said he's pulling Eskendereya out of the Derby because of an "issue" with his left front leg.
Pletcher first noticed the problem after the 3-year-old colt's Saturday morning gallop.
"We were still kind of hoping for a miracle overnight and we didn't get it," Pletcher said. "It's the worst of timing."
