Though choices are few, look at this weekend's limited choices as a chance to try something new!

The holiday is a great time to expand your horizons into some ethnic restaurants you perhaps haven't tried before. Many ethnicities do not celebrate Christmas and therefore have no reason to be closed! (Note: This is certainly not the case for my favorite, Mexican restaurants. I attempted to visit both Santa Fe and Lolita's yesterday for lunch, only to find out that they were already closed in order to start celebrating Navidad.) Here's a few places, however, that are open this weekend and certainly won't disappoint.

For Indian, head to either Kashmir or Dakshin. For great Asian, Annie Cafe or Vietnam Kitchen. Most Chinese restaurants will be open as well and happy to serve you.

A few of my favorite restaurants will be open on Christmas Eve for brunch offering a great start to your holiday weekend. These include Harvest and Hillbilly Tea. If you plan on visiting either of these restaurants that day, a reservation will probably be a good idea.

Last but not least, Varanese and Volare will both be open in the evening on Christmas Eve serving lots of yummy drinks, dishes and holiday cheer.

Most of all - be safe and enjoy this time with those close to you.

    Cheers!
