Here’s a first. KFC Corporation, based in Louisville, KY, will release Col. Sanders' autobiography, which includes his life story as well as 33 of his recipes, exclusively through Facebook on June 4th. The e-book is called "Col. Harland Sanders: The Autobiography of the Original Celebrity Chef" and can be downloaded to those who "like" the KFC Facebook page and then allow the app to be downloaded to their own Facebook account. The original manuscript was discovered in KFC's corporate archives in the fall of 2011. In the introduction, Col. Sanders writes, “this book, written in 1966, is about a man’s life and the food he’s cooked, eaten and served. That man is me. The food I’ve liked, the work I’ve done and the way I think are all the same things. It’s not such a farfetched idea. A lot of learned men think people really are the food they’ve eaten.”

Don’t expect to see the chicken’s “secret recipe” because it’s still locked in the vault, but the recipes that are included like, Potato Pancakes and Upside Down Peach Cobbler, would do any country home proud. These two recipes are available now through their Facebook page.

There’s one more kicker to the story. Chef Edward Lee, owner of 610 Magnolia and of Iron Chef America and Top Chef Texas fame was chosen to prepare the Colonel’s recipes, which can be watched via YouTube.
