At twenty, pianist Ran Jia is already regarded as a striking musician with unusual natural abilities and has been hailed as "China's new champion" and a "piano poet." Born in 1988, Jia has been studying the piano since she was 3 and has performed publically across China since she was 7. She has set her sights on America, currently studying with Gary Graffman at the Curtis Institute of Music in Philadelphia. The winner of numerous prestigious first prizes across the globe, Ran Jia was honored as the only concert pianist invited to celebrate Thelonious Monk's 90th birthday in New York. She will be performing selections from Franz Schubert.
Don't miss the chance to see this rising star who promises to be as well known in the States as she is in Asia!
