The 22nd Annual DinnerWorks Gala, one of the nation’s most creative arts fundraising events, will kick off a five-week DinnerWorks exhibit and series of events on Saturday, January 24, 2009 at the Water Tower. Produced by the Louisville Visual Art Association (LVAA), DinnerWorks features 22 ceramic and glass artist from throughout the U.S. who design and create unique place settings and are coupled with 14 local designers to create a unique and elaborate dinning environment. In recognition of LVAA’s year-long centennial celebration, this year’s exhibit includes a special table featuring eight single centennial place settings designed by eight of Louisville’s most talented artists.

WHO: DinnerWorks Gala guests, Louisville Visual Art Association Members, Local Designers and Artists. Tickets are still available to public. DinnerWorks is sponsored by Brown-Forman Corporation and BB&T.

WHEN: Saturday, January 24, 2009; Gala 7:00 -10:30 pm Best times for interviews and footage, 6:30-8:00 pm and 9-10:00 pm.

WHERE: LVAA, Water Tower, 3005 River Road

WHY: Raise funds to support ongoing LVAA programs such as Children’s Free Art Classes, Open Doors, Food for Thought and public exhibits.

VISUAL OPPORTUNTIES: 5-7:00 pm - Pre-gala preparations; 7-10:30 pm - Black-tie gala attendees reviewing 15 elaborate table designs and unique place settings; 8:00 pm - Dinner served to gala guest at the exhibit tables. The Water Tower also features, Infinite Riches in a Little Room, a new exhibit runs in conjunction with the DinnerWorks exhibit through March 1.
