“Diana: A Celebration” has nine galleries containing 150 objects, including her royal wedding gown and 28 designer dresses, suits and evening gowns worn by the Princess during her public life. There are photos of the outfits, and details of the events in which the outfits were worn.

There are a lot of outfits by one of Princess Diana’s favorite fashion designers, Catherine Walker, who died in 2010. Philip Somerville made matching hats to go with Walker’s designs. Recently, Duchess Kate wore a design by the late designer.

Throughout the galleries, there are style pieces from her early life, her school girl outfit, ballet and tap shoes. In the style gallery, there is a mix between casual and formal wear. Princess Diana wore a lot of pastels and whites in her casual outfits.

The pale blue coat-dress and hat, by Walker in 1987, was a double breasted jacket for the Royal Family’s Easter Day Service at St. George’s Chapel, Windsor. Walker made two matching coats for the young princes. The wool was trimmed with oyster silk satin designed by Somerville.

Princess Diana was a world traveler, often visiting countries with hot climates. The stone safari suit by Walker, did not fit the traditional safari look .The two-piece suit was a practical solution for outfits needed for Nigeria and Brazil.

The Princess traveled with fashionable luggage by Louis Vuitton. Also in the exhibit is Princess Diana's outfit she wore to the land mines in Angola and Bosnia. Check out the exhibit to see more fabulous outfits. The article featuring her formal wear will be up tomorrow.
