Destination Development to Present Switzerland County (IN) Evaluation
Roger Brooks, president and a founding member of the award-winning Destination Development, Inc. team will present a discussion on A Look at Switzerland County, Through the Eyes of Our Visitors on Wed. Sept. 24 from 6:30-9:00 pm. The event will take place at the Best Western Ogle Haus Inn located at 1013 W. Main Street in Vevay, IN.
Co-author of the book “The 25 Immutable Rules of Successful Tourism”, Brooks’ enthusiasm for economic development and tourism is apparent. He has assisted major destination resorts and communities throughout U.S. and Canada with developing themes, creating branding and repositioning programs and building tourism development plans.
Switzerland County was “secret shopped” in early spring and studied for signage, branding, local attitude, beautification, business mix, ease of getting around, and things to see and do. Brooks will present a talk on what he found while visiting the area, and present suggestions, tips and tricks to help bring spending to the area.
Business professionals in retail, lodging, and dining, along with public officials and their staffs, local organizations and residents are encouraged to attend.
Switzerland County was one of less than a dozen Indiana counties to be selected by the Indiana Department of Tourism Development to receive a grant to acquire Brooks’ services. The event is sponsored by the Indiana Department of Tourism Development, the Association of Indiana Convention and Visitor’s Bureau and Switzerland County Tourism and is free and open to the public. RSVPs are required by calling 812-427-3237 by Sept. 21. Refreshments will be served.
