The Kentucky Derby Festival Foundation – the Derby Festival’s charitable arm – will hold its annual Fall Extravaganza on Nov. 13 at Audubon Country Club. The KDF Foundation is once again partnering with the Young Professionals Association of Louisville (YPAL) on the third annual fund raiser. As part of this partnership, KDFF is asking guests to bring canned goods to the event for the food drive, which will help benefit the Dare to Care Food Bank. Kroger has donated several cases of canned food products for the event.
Cocktails will be served beginning at 6:30 p.m., followed by dinner at 7 and dancing at 10:30. A Monte Carlo casino will be open from 7:30 to 10:30. For tickets or more information, call (502) 584-3378. Tickets can also be ordered online www.kdf.org.
Dress for the event is business casual. Last year’s event raised more than $5,000 for the Derby Festival Foundation, as well as contributing 119 pounds of food for the Dare to Care Food Bank.
The Kentucky Derby Festival Foundation, a 501 C 3 not-for-profit charity, receives and manages charitable contributions on behalf of the Kentucky Derby Festival, Inc., its supporters and the general public. The Foundation perpetuates the Festival’s impact on the community by developing projects that highlight the Festival’s influence on the area's cultural heritage. It works to further the Festival’s educational and charitable mission through exhibitions and performances.
