Boys and Girls Haven will dedicate its new Art Studio in honor of recently deceased Board member, James D. Nesbit.
Mr. Nesbit, along with a lifelong career at General Electric, held four college degrees and was an adjunct professor of business in retirement as well as an accomplished painter.
The three primary funders of the Art Studio will also be honored at this event.
Mayor Greg Fischer will speak at 5:00 p.m. on behalf of the Louisville Metro External Agency Arts Fund. Also speaking will be Susan Barry, CEO of the Community Foundation of Louisville and Dawn Lee, CEO of the WHAS Crusade for Children.
The event is open to the public. The dedication on March 25 includes light refreshments, live music, and an art fair. Pottery pieces from Kentucky Mudworks, Berea College, and noted Kentucky artists, as well as the Boys and Girls Haven pottery classes will be on sale with proceeds benefiting the Art Studio at Boys and Girls Haven.
