McClanahan Publishing is proud to announce the return of the Victorian Ghost Walk, an annual event that brings the past to life in Kentucky’s largest city. Based on the stories made famous in David Dominé’s books about the spooky history of Old Louisville, the country’s most haunted neighborhood, the walk will take place on Friday, Oct. 29, Saturday, Oct. 30 and Sunday, Oct. 31, with tours departing Central Park every 15 minutes between 6 and 7:30 p.m.
Described as a spectacle of community theater designed to showcase both the haunted past and acting talent of the region’s premier Victorian neighborhood, this year’s ghost walk will see participants shepherded through the streets of Old Louisville as costumed interpreters tell their tales of phantom woe. Among those featured will be the true stories of Jennie Bowman, a young maid murdered in 1887, and Tom Turner, a jilted lover who committed suicide in 1901 at the infamous Killing Tree on Floral Terrace. The ghosts of the womanizing Alfred Victor Dupont and Louisville’s famed resurrectionist Simon Kracht will also make appearances. Dominé wrote the scripts for each of the 20 parts and veteran New York actor Ronald Lew Harris provided the directorial talent to produce the event. Vintage clothing will be supplied by Louise Cecil Costumes.
Tickets to the 6th Annual Victorian Ghost Walk are $20 in advance and $25 during the event. All proceeds go to projects sponsored by the Old Louisville Neighborhood Council and the West St. Catherine Street Neighborhood Association. Purchase tickets by calling (502) 636-5023 or visit /www.oldlouisville.org/ghostwalk/ for more information.

About Ghosts of Old Louisville: True Stories of Hauntings in America’s Largest Victorian Neighborhood: Ghosts of Old Louisville is the first book in a series of supernatural lore from author David Dominé, long recognized as an expert on local history – especially the haunted kind. The soft cover book was written after a series of unexplained events in his Châteauesque home on Old Louisville’s Millionaires Row caused him to research the home’s ghostly past. In the process, he discovered a haunted neighborhood that has become famous throughout the country for its stunning architecture and hundreds of beautiful Victorian mansions. The book retails for $21.95 and it is sold at www.kybooks.com, www.amazon.com and a number of Louisville area stores like Carmichael’s, A Taste of Kentucky, Barnes and Noble and Borders.
