“Dances” will be Moving Collective’s eighth installation of Modern Dance in the River City since the ensemble’s formation nearly four years ago. In addition to presenting dance from local choreographers, Moving Collective will once again be importing dance from outside of the region, presenting artists from Illinois, Indiana, Ohio and Virginia. Kentuckiana choreographers Tamara Begley, Stephanie Clark, Kimberly Nygren Cox, Sarah Remembrance Downs, Lauren Ford, Mary Elise Gates, and Lauren Zoeller have teamed up with Illinois’ Renay Aumiller, Keesha Beckford, Kyli Klevens and Anna Sapozhnikov, Virginia’s danah bella, Ohio’s Rachel James, and Indiana’s Beth Rodriguez to premiere a diverse display of contemporary choreography. Of the eleven works contained in “Dances,” five are world premieres and ten have never before been seen in Louisville.
