Jeffersontown Crusade Blues Festival
Friday-Saturday May 19th-20th, 2006,Memorial Park
The Jeffersontown Crusade Blues Festival Committee, in conjunction with the City of Jeffersontown,Kentucky Telco Federal Credit Union, Bell South, Kentucky Farm Bureau, Krogers Stoneybrook, Bob Hook Chevrolet, and King Southern Bank, will be holding its seconds annual Crusade Blues Festival Friday, May 19,th 5:30pm until 10:00pm, and Saturday, May 20th, 12:00pm until 8:00pm, at the Veteran’s Memorial Park , 10707 Taylorsville, Rd., Jeffersontown, KY.
The 10th St. Blues Band will kick of Friday's show followed by The Mr.Wonderful Production Band.. Bootleg Barbecue will be selling a variety of barbecue items, including ribs and pork sandwiches with a selection of side dishes. River B/files/storyimages/Winery will be handling beer and wine sales, and Kroger will have bottled water and hot dogs. Baskin Robbins Ice Cream will also be there. There will be great raffle prizes available, including a round of golf, for two, at Oxmoor Country Club, and a night stay, for two, at the Holiday Inn, Hurstbourne, just to name a few. Children’s attractions include two fully equipped playground areas, a blowup Castle from Puzzle'sFundome, and a climbing wall sponsored by the US Army Recruiting Office. Friday night will wrap up with a balloon glow, featuring balloons from ReMax, Kentucky Telco Federal Credit Union, King Southern Bank, Oates Flag, and Bob Hook Chevrolet.
Saturday will continue the fun adding Wicks Pizza to the menu along with all the Friday offerings.
There will be a line up of seven bands starting at 12:00pm with the Uvyecti Blues band and ending with Lamont Gillespie and 100 Proof. The music ends at 8:00pm See www. jtownbluesfest.org for a complete line up of bands and times.
We will have a musicians tent for anyone wishing to meet them and purchase their CDs. The Blues Festival will have its own CD available, Blues n’ Cues Volume #1, for sale for the benefit of the Crusade. Finally, the Kentuckiana Blues Society will be there with its “Blues Cruise” folks to enjoy in the fun.
