The excitement continues! As you probably know by now, we are in the process of creating a new brand for our great Commonwealth. When we unveiled the campaign on October 26, we opened the process up to the public, offering you the opportunity to help us select from among four possible brands to use in marketing Kentucky.

    Brand: Kentucky - Unbridled Spirit
What it means: Kentucky is a place where spirits are free to soar and big dreams can be fulfilled. We relish competition and cherish our champions for their willingness to push beyond conventional boundaries to reach new heights of success.

    Brand: Kentucky - Make History
What it means: Kentucky offers a long and proud tradition of extraordinary achievement from seemingly ordinary individuals. From Daniel Boone to Muhammad Ali to Colonel Harland Sanders, Kentucky has time and time again proven to be a place of opportunity for people of all walks of life, where great things can happen and anything is possible.

Brand: Kentucky - Where legends are born
What it means: Kentucky was born of a bold, pioneer spirit that conquered the wilderness and gave birth to countless stories of heroism, resourcefulness and unflinching dedication to the pursuit of progress. This legacy provides numerous points of pride that live on today and inspire Kentuckians to create new legends in every endeavor we undertake

And you have spoken. We tabulated close to 28,000 votes in the first round. Finishing last among the four finalists was "Kentucky - Limitless," so it has been officially eliminated.

From now through November 12, you may vote for one of three remaining options: "Kentucky - Where Legends Are Born," "Kentucky - Make History" or "Kentucky - Unbridled Spirit." The lowest vote-getter from among these choices will be eliminated on November 12. After that, you will have until November 21 to vote for one of the two finalists. We'll announce Kentucky's official brand on November 24.

You and I know how wonderful it is to live in Kentucky, but sometimes we take for granted that everyone else appreciates our great state as much as we do. We hope to change that through an aggressive, multi-year marketing campaign that toots our horn a bit. The brand is just a small part of that effort.

This Web site contains everything you need to know about the process of selecting Kentucky's new brand. You can cast your vote online here, find both updated and archived news, and learn what a brand is. You can even find out where people who don't have access to the Internet can vote for their favorite brand.

Have fun, and may the best brand win!
