This exhibition initiates a conversations of how we can creatively reduce our consumption by reusing and reinventing our waste as a resource, aiming to create awareness and education among viewers about our impact on the environment as consumers and our ability to reduce our ecological footprint through creative and sustainable approaches to dealing with waste. This exhibit challenges the social acceptance of "cradle to grave" or waste as a luxurious disposal and replaces it with a new mentality, "cradle to cradle", which suggests a new approach to the design and reuse of consumable materials in attempt to eliminate "waste".
This exhibition has been curated by Lori Beck, founder of Ohio Valley Creative Energy, a nonprofit organization leading an example of how we can live sustainably AND creatively in its endeavor to construct the proposed multi-arts center at the Clark-Floyd landfill in Southern Indiana. http://www.ohiovalleycreativenergy.org/
