
A Louisville Metro Council committee has been formed to again explore the possibility of building a downtown arena that would be financed through the sale of bonds.
Democratic Councilman Dan Johnson will chair the panel, which will include three other Democrats and three Republicans.
Johnson is a longtime proponent of building an arena, most recently in conjunction with luring the NBA's Charlotte Hornets to Louisville. The team ultimately decided to move to New Orleans.
Johnson says discussions will include the prospects of the University of Louisville using the arena.
