Established in Louisville in February 1999 when more than 100 brrrrrave souls raised funds and made a splash into the Ohio River, this event has grown into a signature event across the country for the Special Olympics organization and it grows each year.
In 2006, the Polar Bear Plunge grew to six locations throughout the state with 2,000 Polar Bears raising a record $440,000 to support Special Olympics programs in Kentucky.
In 2006, Louisville Polar Bears raised more than $275,000.

Pre-Registration

Avoid the long lines on Saturday! If all of your donations were raised on-line or if you have all of your donations in already, this is your best bet. Bring your donations in and pick up your incentive items. Teams are encouraged to register together however, team captains may register their entire team.2/22/2007 3:00 pm - 8:00 pm Registration

If all your donations have been raised on-line or if you missed pre-registration, you will have to come inside to check in and pick up any incentive items you earned.
